Quadruped locomotion

The research is based on this video.

The walk should be rear 3/4 delayed, and the contact points of the front and the rear legs is extremely close together, especially for cats, the rear foots steps into the foot prints .

The low and high points at the rear reverse. The front is up the rear is down, the heads tend to the rear down.

Front left leg contect, rear right passing, 8 draws in total in 24 frames. Contect is the lowest position and the highest is passing.

For trot, the rear leg is like jog, both feet leave the ground for a short moment of time. When the high point reached, only 1 foot is on the ground.

The frount pows left off both front and rear reach their low and high points at the same time. The head being slightly delayed.

Mid leap front left forwards front right and rear left passing.

The passing positions are also the low points and the leaps are the high points

For Gallop, the front ground contacts would be alone the lines of left-right 3/4, the 3/4 indicating the amount of time the feet are off the ground. The back end would be 1/2 right left. gallops are not always that symmetrical.

When the rear leg is touch the ground, the dog is the shortest wi th a curved body acting as a spring of stored energy. The moment contact is made the rear legs push the body, the animal makes most use of this moment by extending the body against the push of the legs and so gains forward momentum, the front legs keep that momentum going and the animal is now at its longest.

Week 2 : The world building

Today we decided to start build our world , there are some aspects: history(period, event, global catastrophe), ecology(habitat, how the nature effected, sign,,,,), geography(where, religion, architecture)..

Tasks:
Sets and props nand make a moodboard and story board
Try make the basic compositions in maya

Week 1 : The world, character, and the storyboard

The character I want to use is this series; I won’t use all of them.

Idea 1: Gamma (as a pet) is a thief. The character is on guard duty, and Gamma sneaks down from a high place but triggers an alarm and becomes the target of pursuit. The other two characters are chosen from Alpha, Beta, and Delta.

Idea 2: Gamma (as a giant beast) guards its home/territory. The character is a thief. There are fight scenes, with Gamma using its front paws and tail for sweeping attacks.

Idea 3: Gamma (as a pet) works with the character to steal things. There is a walking cycle in the early stages.

Week 1 : Elements of Mise En Scene/ Camera animation

Mise-en-scène Mise-en-scène is the stage design and arrangement of actors in scenes for a theatre or film production, both in visual arts through storyboarding, visual theme, and cinematography, and in narrative storytelling through direction.

You need to guide how the audience respond to your work.

The rule of thirds: The human eye naturally gravitates to intersection points that occur when an image is split into thirds. Frame your subject so they are positioned on the intersection of any two or more lines.

The horizon should be either two thirdsfrom the top of the frame or two thirdsfrom the bottom.

First is the world. We need to focus:

• Where is this taking place?
• What era?
• Future, past or present?
• Space? Western? East Asian? Steam punk? Etc
• What governs your world? Laws? Gods/religions?
How do these things effect your story?

Then focus the characters.

The assignment for this week is to draw 3 ideas.
